Weight Loss Management / Advice Available In-Store
The weight loss management treatment we can offer starts from £55/month.
Our range of treatments include oral and injectable medication.
We offer face-to-face consultations where you will be given advice by our specially-trained pharmacist on how to lose weight safely and effectively. Your weight and BMI will be calculated and we can also take your waist measurements. These will be monitored to ensure you are progressing well through your treatment. We will ask you questions about your medical history and your lifestyle. If appropriate, we will recommend a treatment to help you lose weight along with healthy lifestyle advice.
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a tool commonly used to classify various types of excess weight. You can find out if you have a healthy weight by using this NHS BMI calculator.
BMI of 25 and over is classed as being overweight and a BMI of 30 and over is classed as having obesity. However, the BMI has some limitations. For example, an athlete with a lot of muscle mass can be classified as overweight or even obese even though they have a low fat percentage.
Therefore, measuring your waist is a more accurate way to tell whether you carry excess fat. In men, a waist size of 94cm (37 ins) means you have excess fat around your stomach and are at higher risk of developing conditions like type 2 diabetes, stroke and heart disease. In women, the risk increases if the waist measurement is 80cm (31.5 ins) or above.
Our pharmacist will have weekly check-ins with you for the first month of you starting your treatment and monthly thereafter. You will be able to contact our pharmacist for any other queries you have. We will also make recommendations on what changes you can make to your diet and physical activity as these are essential in combination with medicated weight loss treatment.
To assist with the consultation, we ask all patients/patient representatives to create an account with our partner Pharmadoctor and fill out the questionnaire (“Start a new consultation” ⇒ “Weight Management”)
