If you are not eligible for the free NHS flu vaccine, you can still protect yourself through our private flu vaccination service for £13.

why should I get the flu Jab?

The flu can be serious and can cause complications in some people. The best way to protect yourself and others is by getting the flu vaccine.

The vaccine helps to protect you against the main types of flu viruses and can also stop you spreading flu to other people. If you do catch the flu after being vaccinated, your symptoms will be milder.

when should i get the flu jab?

The flu vaccine takes around 10 days to take become effective, so we recommend getting it as early as possible.

The flu season starts early September and lasts through to March.

What happens during the appointment?

The pharmacist will ask you a few questions to make sure the vaccine is suitable for you. Your vaccination will be given into the upper arm so make sure you wear a short-sleeved or loose-fitted upper garment / top.

Can I get the Flu Vaccine if I have the cold?

If you do not have a raised temperature and feel well, you can get the vaccine. Otherwise, the pharmacist might reschedule your appointment for when you feel better.

Will I get side effects from the Flu Vaccine?

As with any vaccination, side-effects are possible, but they are usually mild. The most common ones include pain and tenderness at the vaccination area, tiredness, headache, and fever.
