Overview

Exorex Lotion - 5% v/w Coal Tar Solution is a skin lotion for the treatment of psoriasis and also known as cutaneous emulsion.

For external use only.

It contains coal tar solution which relieves and prevents itching and promotes the softening of the outer layer of skin. The tar acids in coal tar used on the skin have been shown to have antibacterial properties and helps to reduce itching and inflammation of the skin caused by psoriasis.

Exorex Lotion is the core product of the Exorex Management System. It is a topical dermatological preparation containing coal tar extract (5%) that is licensed to treat psoriasis.

Coal tar has mild antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects, and relieves itching. It is also absorbed into the skin cells and is thought to inhibit DNA replication in these cells. This slows down cell division and stops the cells from multiplying excessively. In turn, this reduces thickening and scaling of the skin.

  • Exorex Lotion's odour isn't as powerful as some other conventional coal tar products.
  • It is suitable for any age and can be diluted to suit individual requirements.
