  • Suitable for adults and children over 4 years old

End Warts Freeze is the latest alternative to End Warts Pen that uses rapid freeze technology (otherwise known as cryotherapy) to effectively remove warts and verrucas from hands and feet.

  • Often only one treatment is sufficient.

End Warts Freeze is a rapid home treatment that effectively removes warts and it is the first home treatment with nitrous oxide, a very cold gas. End Warts Freeze ensures the device starts at a very low temperature (-80°C compared with most treatments freezing at -50°C) which is maintained during application, so the deepest layer of the wart can be reached. End Warts Freeze is by far the coldest home freeze treatment, which is shown in an in-vitro temperature test including several freeze devices for home treatment.

  • End Warts Freeze is a high tech device that is quick and easy to use.
  • The treatment is suitable for adults and children over 4 years old.

A recent clinical study evaluated cryotherapies and found End Warts Freeze to deliver significant results with good tolerability, described as user friendly and effective.

Due to the temperature of the gas, after just a few seconds of use, the core of the wart will be reached and destroyed. As a result, only one treatment is usually needed and warts should disappear within 14 days.

However, older or larger warts may need more than one treatment, particularly if they are on the soles of the feet.

Using End Warts Freeze on children

End Warts Freeze may be used on children over the age of four. Always ensure that it is a wart you are dealing with before applying treatment. Please note that cryotherapy can be perceived as slightly painful and uncomfortable for small children. As an alternative treatment we can recommend the End Warts Pen, which may be better tolerated by children, although may need a few more treatments.

Can End Warts Pen be used for all types of warts?

End Warts Pen can be used for warts and verrucas on hands, feet, elbows and knees. End Warts Pen must not be used for treating genital warts or facial warts.

What does the End Warts Pen contain?

Formic acid, water, glycerol and lemon oil.

Why does the tip of the End Warts Pen look dry?

End Warts Pen delivers a very small amount of the solution in order to be effective.

The tip of End Warts Pen is constructed to be slightly moist, but never wet. The reason the tip of End Warts Pen appears dry is because the amount of solution on the tip is so small it is difficult to see. This can be tested by pressing the tip of the pen on a piece of tissue before treatment, you will see a wet mark on the paper.

Always keep the End Warts Pen stored in an upright position.

Does the Pen have an opening resistant cap?

Yes. The child resistant cap helps protect the ingredients from accidental contact with children. The lid can be closed in any position. To open, the cap will first be rotated until the orange strip is in line with the small cavity on the cap. Once in line, the cap can be safely pulled off of the pen body with a mild force.

Can End Warts Pen be used on young children?

Yes, children below 4 years of age can be treated with the End Warts Pen but should be consulted with a Healthcare Professional before treating.

For children under 4 years, it is particularly important to reduce the dose.
Read the instructions for use carefully before treatment.

Is the treatment with End Warts Pen painful?

The treatment doesn't usually hurt when the product is used correctly and in accordance with the user instructions. End Warts Pen contains formic acid and has, in the treatment of warts, a dehydrating effect. However, formic acid in itself is corrosive and needs to be handled with extra care. If the solution comes in contact with the skin surrounding the wart, the skin can be damaged. If it should burn or sting when treating, rinse the wart/verruca with cold water and do not apply any more solution. EndWarts® PEN has already penetrated the wart/verruca. Never cover the wart with plasters during treatment with EndWarts® PEN.

Can End Warts Pen be used to treat multiple warts/verrucas at the same time?

Is it possible that a wart or verruca returns after a successful treatment?

Since warts are caused by a virus, anyone can get one or get infected multiple times. In fact, an estimated 10% of the population is infected at any one time.

Info Leaflet

End Warts Freeze is a high tech device that is quick and easy to use. The treatment is suitable for adults and children over 4 years old.

Before using any medical devices, it is important to read the Patient Information Leaflet. You can find information leaflets for your medicines by typing them into the search bar at medicines.org, or by contacting us.

How does formic acid work compared to other acids?

In the treatment of warts, formic acid works differently compared to all other acids. The End Warts Freeze Pen solution penetrates deeply into the wart and effectively dries out the entire wart from the inside and the body consequently rejects the wart.

  • Formic acid = Deep dry out effect

Salicylic acid = Peeling effect
Trichloroacetic acid = Peeling effect
Monochloroacetic acid = Peeling effect

Can pregnant women, nursing mothers and diabetics use End Warts Freeze Pen?

There are no known risks associated with pregnancy or breastfeeding but you should always speak to your doctor/midwife regarding any new symptoms during pregnancy.

Diabetics should only use End Warts Pen on healthy skin that is not affected by any diabetic-related conditions. Always follow the dosage and application instructions carefully. If there are any complications, always contact a doctor/nurse or podiatrist.

How to store End Warts Freeze?
Before first use

  • Store in a dry and cool place (between 5 – 25°C). Protect from sunlight.
  • Do not expose it to temperatures above 35°C. Do not store in cars, caravans, or other places that heat up. An increase in temperature will damage the device and disable it permanently.
  • Do not store it in the freezer.

After each use

Put the cap on and store in the refrigerator – this will give End Warts Freeze a longer shelf life and increase the number of useful doses.

  • If you clean the plastic parts of the device, use a damp cloth only.

Wait two minutes after use, discard the disposable tip and insert a new tip. End Warts Freeze is now ready for the next use.

Before the very first use only End Warts Freeze needs to be activated once.

1. Activate:

  • Turn the white part of the device a minimum one full turn in the direction of the arrow until the star is back in the shaded zone.
  • Some force is needed.
  • Don’t worry if you turn the star past the shaded zone.
  • After you have activated the device successfully, never repeat it.

2. Load

Before each treatment End Warts Freeze needs to be loaded with cold gas.

Place End Warts Freeze upright on a flat and stable surface, like a table. Hold End Warts Freeze device with a steady grip with one hand so it does not slip. With the other hand, push the device downward for exactly 2 seconds. There should be a hissing sound.

  • Pushing for longer will waste useful doses.
  • Pushing shorter, reduces the freeze effect.

3. Check

Remove the transparent cap and use the product immediately. You should see ice vapour. If there is no ice vapour, repeat the Load step.

4. Treat
Immediately press the tip of EndWarts® FREEZE firmly against the wart. For best results, the time is crucial. Use a clock or count out loud slowly:

  • 15 seconds on hands, fingers and arms
  • 40 seconds on feet

After treating the wart, put the cap back on and store in a refrigerator.

After using End Warts Freeze

  • Using EndWarts Freeze will cause a tingling feeling and the skin may feel sore or irritated. These effects should go away after a few hours.
  • Immediately after treatment the treated area will turn white. After a little while the skin will go back to its normal colour and the wart will look red.
  • Within a few minutes to several days after freezing, a blister can develop, occasionally filled with blood. This is a normal result of the freezing process and usually indicates that the treatment was successful.
  • Do not attempt to burst the blister. If necessary, protect it with a sterile bandage, or if the blister has opened, disinfect it properly.
  • The treated wart will slowly disappear after 10 to 14 days. However, it may take longer for the skin to fully recover.
  • If the wart is located on the sole of the foot it may feel painful to walk on it. To make it less painful, apply a round corn plaster to the area.
  • Keep the treated area clean and disinfect if needed.

Do not pick at the treated area or try to tear the wart off!

  • Bathing and showering is allowed immediately after treatment.

For best results on foot warts

Hard skin on top of the wart makes freezing more difficult, so to achieve the best results follow these steps:

  • Soak the affected area in lukewarm water until the skin is soft.
  • Gently remove any overlaying skin on inward growing warts on the foot with e.g. a foot file.
  • Make sure that the wart and surrounding skin are completely dry before treatment.
  • Do not file the wart itself; it may become tender and will form a new hard surface.

Do I need to repeat the treatment?
End Warts Freeze is very efficient after just a few seconds of use, the core of the wart will be reached and destroyed because of the cold temperature. Normally, only one treatment is sufficient. Old or large warts may need more than one treatment, especially if they are under the soles of your feet.

Wait 14 days before you treat the next wart.

The wart will slowly disappear after 10 to 14 days. If the wart, or part of it, does not disappear within 14 days you need to repeat the treatment.

If a wart does not go away after 3 treatments, consult your doctor.
Consult your doctor:

  • if the wart does not heal.
  • if you or your child experience any unexpected side effects.
  • if the wart has not disappeared after 3 treatments.

The treatment is unlikely to hurt when the product is used correctly and in accordance with the user instructions. However, formic acid in itself is corrosive and needs to be handled with extra care. It is very important not to let the solution come in contact with the skin surrounding the wart - as it can damage the skin.

  • If there is any burning or stinging sensation while treating, rinse the wart/verruca with cold water and do not apply any more solution.
  • It is also very important to never cover the wart with plasters during treatment with End Warts, the effect will be too strong and can cause skin damage.

For external use only.

  • Do not inhale
  • Do not apply for longer than 15 seconds on hands and arms, or 40 seconds on feet. Excessive or incorrect application can cause pain and damage the skin or nerves.
  • Do not use this product if you are diabetic or a person with blood circulation or blood clotting problems.
  • Nitrous oxide is a non-toxic, non-flammable gas, but it will support combustion in case of fire. Keep away from heat/sparks/ open flames/hot surfaces. Do not smoke or use close to a naked flame.
  • Pressurized container. May burst if heated. Do not pierce or burn the cartridge even after use - the device is under high pressure and cannot be opened.

Keep out of sight and reach of children.

  • Do not use the product after the expiry date shown on the pack.
  • Dispose the empty product according to current regulations on disposal of urban waste.

What to do if the device is empty or broken:

  • If you do not see frost or ice vapour after a successful activation and loading of the device it has run out of gas.
  • If there is a continuous hiss sound after you have activated the product and all the gas runs out, the device is broken. Do not try to open or repair it yourself, even if you think it is empty - return the product to your pharmacy.
