Deep Heat Rub 100g

Deep Heat Rub is a non-greasy pain relieving cream, which is a fast relief from muscular aches and pains, stiffness.

It is an effective treatment for backache, fibrositis (muscle tenderness or stiffness), sprains and chilblains, sciatica and lumbago and also it can be used for rheumatic pain or arthrosis (pain in the joints).

It helps to ease pain and stiffness by providing a warming sensation, that helps to relax and soothe the muscles. Deep Heat cream generates penetrating warmth in aching, injured and sore muscles.

Heat therapy helps to increase blood supply to relax and soothe before or after exercise.

Provide pain-relief when you experience:

• Minor sports injuries
• Bruises 
• Sprains

Like all medicines Deep Heat Cream can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The following effects may occur, particularly if you have sensitive skin or if you use the cream in hot weather or after a hot bath:

• Temporary skin redness
• Burning sensation
• Swelling or blistering
• More severe allergic reactions, such as urticaria (itchy rash), and burns at application site, may occur.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.

Stop using Deep Heat Cream and tell your doctor if you experience excessive skin irritation or other unwanted effects.

Before using any medication, it is important to read the Patient Information Leaflet.

Deep Heat Rub is suitable for adults and children over 5 years old.

• Always try on a small area first.
• Gently massage a thin layer of Deep Heat Rub to the affected area until the cream is rubbed in.
• Apply Deep Heat cream 2-3 times daily.
• Always wash your hands immediately after use so that you do not transfer it to sensitive areas such as your lips or eyes. If this occurs, wash away with plenty of clean water.
• If you accidentally squeeze out too much cream use a tissue to wipe off any excess.
• If your symptoms do not improve see your doctor.

Stop using Deep Heat cream if you get excessive skin irritation or other unwanted effects.

• If you or a child accidentally swallow the cream contact your doctor or hospital immediately.
• If you use more Deep Heat Rub than you should.
• If you forget to use the cream apply Deep Heat Rub again when you remember. Do not use the cream more than 3 times in one day.

It can be used before or after exercise.

Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or painkillers such as aspirin, ibuprofen and other NSAIDs.

Not to be used in children under 5 years. If you or a child accidentally swallow the cream contact your doctor or hospital immediately.

Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, breast feeding, asthmatic or on any prescribed medicines.

For external use only.

Do not use after the expiry date which is printed on the tube and carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Store below 25°c.

Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.

The active substances are:

• Methyl salicylate 12.80% w/w
• Menthol 5.91% w/w
• Eucalyptus oil 1.97% w/w
• Turpentine oil 1.47% w/w

The other ingredients are: sodium cetostearyl sulfate, cetostearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, wool fat (lanolin), liquid paraffin and water.
