Senokot Syrup is designed to provide gentle, effective relief from the symptoms of constipation, working in 8 - 12 hours.
A prune flavoured senna based syrup providing effective relief from occasional constipation. Senokot Syrup works by making the muscles in the bowel contract more often, which helps to move the contents of the rectum, which relieves constipation.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects,
although not everybody gets them.
If any of the following or any other side effects occur,
stop taking this medicine and consult a doctor or
pharmacist:
- abdominal pain, spasms and diarrhoea, in particular
these effects may be experienced by patients with
irritable colon. In these cases, a reduction in dose may
be necessary.
- hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions, hives (skin
bumps), skin itchiness or local or more widespread
rash, or asthma

• Senokot Syrup PIL

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: One to two 5 ml spoonfuls at night.

Not to be given to children under 12 years without medical advice.

Not for use in children under six years. Do not use if constipation is accompanied by symptoms of nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, bleeding or patient is known to have a blockage in the bowel. Not suitable for use in ileostomy, colostomy, or pregnancy. Do not use regularly as this can lead to dehydration. If symptoms persist for more than three days, consult your doctor.

Each 5 ml of syrup contains sennosides, as calcium
salts, equivalent to 7.5 mg hydroxyanthracene
glycosides, calculated as sennoside B. The other
ingredients are potassium sorbate (E202), methyl
parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl
parahydroxybenzoate (E216), maltitol liquid (E965),
xanthan gum, anti-foam emulsion, prune flavour
(caramel colour E150a, ethanol, prune juice
concentrate, vanilla bean extract, water), citric acid
anhydrous and purified water
