about bazuka sub zero
bazuka sub zero is used in the treatment and eradication of warts and verrucas.

verrucas and warts are small excessive growths of skin caused by viruses.

warts are ‘cauliflower’ like in appearance, occurring more commonly on the fingers and back of the hands.
verrucas appear as a small black dot encircled by a white ring. they are more commonly found on the souls or sides of the feet.
verrucas and warts are highly infectious. they can spread to different areas of the body as well as between people if left untreated. if you think you might have a verruca or wart, it is advised that you don’t share shoes or towels to reduce the risk of transmission.

bazuka sub zero should not be used on your face, armpits, breasts, bottom or genital area. it should not be used on any sensitive, broken or damaged the skin. only use bazuka sub zero on lesions that are warts or verrucas. if you are unsure whether or not you should be using bazuka sub zero treatment contact your pharmacist for advice.

bazuka sub zero is based on ‘cryotherapy’ or freezing treatments used by doctors. the freezing agent used is a liquid mixture of dimethyl ether and propane gas delivered via a pressurised aerosol and foam applicator. this treatment method aims to freeze the wart or verruca, killing the virus responsible for it and causing the lesion to fall off.

using bazuka sub zero
treatment is delivered via a foam applicator, each applicator should only be used once.

to make the wart or verruca more susceptible to treatment, it should be soaked in warm water, dried thoroughly and filed gently with an emery board or pumice stone. this helps to soften the skin to give more successful results.

for some warts, only one application will be required, however, for larger, older more resistant warts and verrucas, multiple freezing treatments may be required.
-if more than one freeze is required, leave 2 weeks before repeating treatment
-you should not freeze the same wart or verruca more than three times in total.
-if the wart/verruca has not been removed after three treatments consult your doctor.

freezing time

the wart or verruca should only be frozen for a matter of seconds with the applicator. however, depending on the size and location different freezing contact times are required.
larger warts will take a little longer to freeze to the core, as do those located on the soles of the feet.
only 10 second contact time is required for small lesions, whereas up to 40 seconds contact may be required for larger verrucas located in high-pressure areas on the feet.
do not freeze a lesion for more than 40 seconds.

after freezing

the treated area will turn white as it freezes. this may cause an uncomfortable painful, stinging sensation.
the area will then thaw and a blister will form under the wart or verruca within a few days. this may or may not be visible.

take care not to pick or scratch at the treated area. a plaster covering may be worn over the lesion to prevent this.

if treatment is successful, over the next 2 weeks the wart or verruca will fall off.
if after two weeks this has not occurred, a second freezing application can be administered. the wart or verruca can be treated this way up to three times with two-week intervals left between each application. no more than three treatments should be used for an individual wart or verruca.

effectiveness
bazuka sub zero used freezing technology to provide effective results however some warts and verrucas can be more stubborn and more resistant to treatment than others.
if after three successive applications the lesion is still present contact your doctor to consider a more intensive therapy.
