What causes hay fever?

Hay fever is a common allergic condition.

You can get hay fever at any age and it affects up to one in five people at some point in their life.

You will experience hay fever if you have an allergic reaction to tree pollen (released during spring); grass pollen (released during the end of spring and the beginning of summer); or weed pollen (released late autumn).

Symptoms of hay fever

Symptoms of hay fever include:

• Sneezing
• A runny nose
• Itchy eyes
