How to keep your skin healthy

Whether you suffer from any of these skin conditions or not, you can take steps to keep your skin healthy. Try and make sure you get at least eight hours of sleep each night. This helps your skin to repair itself. You should also drink plenty of water. This keeps the skin hydrated.

If you smoke, you should cut down or quit. Smoking narrows the blood vessels in the outer layer of skin, restricting blood flow and aging the skin. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Many fruits, particularly tomatoes and mangoes, help protect compounds found in the skin. If you have sensitive skin, avoid scented body wash. Perfumes can often irritate the skin.
